Super Bowl…Going in I was extremely disappointed that I had to be passively cheering for individual players and not really siding with a team. Basically I hate Peyton Manning and the Bears. I still love my favorite holiday and couldn’t stop thinking about the game for a good 4 days beforehand. It’s so fucking cold in Minnesota right now that no one wanted to go anywhere so we just had a few people at our place. EvilFather brought delicious food and Jaggermeister provided the entertainment. The commercials as a whole were very poor especially considering I was fairly drunk and looking for an excuse to laugh. The only one I remember being any good was the one in the first quarter by Blockbuster where the animals were double clicking the mouse.
Betting…The 3 bets I made included a large one on the Bears +6.5, which looked good for about 3/4 of the game. I bet that because I just wanted to cheer for a close game. I also found what seemed at the time like an amazing bet on whether or not Indy’s backup RB Dominic Rhodes would have a run of 15 yards. I thought he would barely get any touches and Addai would steal the show. I was wrong, Rhodes put up a 100 yards and most importantly a 30 yard run in the third quarter. And my final bet was on the score of the game to be over 47.5 (Final 29-17). I bet the over because everyone was betting the under because of the rainy weather. And when everyone bets one way I go the other. I lost this bet also, meaning Mr. Clutch field goal kicker cost me that bet with his missed field goal. I also didn’t understand the fact that the colts didn’t kick the field goal to give them a two posession lead with 3 minutes to play, which would have again covered my over. Then, I told my brother I wanted to bet on Devin Hester at 30-1 to score the first touchdown. He told me how hard that bet is and I decided to side with him and just not make it. So, for my bets I went 0-3 and then didn’t make the bet that would have won me my largest single bet ever. All in all a very rough betting super bowl.
